Red Lippies
I’ve had this red lipstick for a quite a while now. I’ve always preferred nude colors, but  decided to play around and explore brighter colors. I’ve seen many ladies pull of this look beautifully, I wasn’t really confident with it yet, mainly because I  have darker, olive skin tone and wasn’t sure if a red lip would complement my skin tone. And  I was scared that a red shade would be far to showy and calls for too much attention to my lips.

A bold red lip is such a classic look and adds a touch of flair. A  good idea would probably be to  pair a bold red lip with the lightest possible make –up. Better yet, do away with eye shadow and just dab on mascara.  Applying a little concealer around the border of your mouth area will promote a polished look.

Red lipstick makes the lips appear bigger and much plumper than what they really are, so it's important to consider the size of your lips when choosing a shade of red lippies. If you feeling to dress down a bit, a pop of red on the lips can easily elevate your outfit instantly.
A good tip is to apply a little foundation on your lips before applying the lipstick. Use a lip liner the same shade a the red lipstick to prevent the lipstick from bleeding out of the lips. Red lipstick makes the face not just the lips very attractive, but ensure that your make-up is balanced!

So im rocking red lippies confidently J

Enhancing your natural features

It's no secret that we as women love make-up. It certainly makes, and let us feel and look good.

I’m not a make-up artist but have the basic essentials and knowledge on how to apply it so that it can enhance my features and cover up a few flaws. I don’t wear a lot of make-up, my make-up routine takes about 5 minutes or less each morning.

I apply mascara, a little bronzer and some eye shadow, I would finish off the look with lip gloss or natural lipstick.

Weekends I don’t wear any make-up, I normally use this time to let my face breathe.
Have you noticed that people who wear eye pencil every day,  the day they haven't applied eye pencil, you can immediately notice the difference. Their appearance comes a across as if the person is looking ill, the face appears bleak.

I'm not against make up, on the contrary, I love it – and I am a keen collector of makeup, even if I don’t get apply everything that’s stacked up in my makeup cabinet, but I like to keep it simple. I also don’t have a lot of time in the morning to apply loads of products.

Find your favorite facial feature and capitalize it. But don't overdo it if you go one day without all the makeup everybody will notice.

Feel good, feel pretty and that's what the world will see. If you feel ugly, that's what people will see. Try to look as good as you can. There are ways to live in beauty without being obsessive about it.

You can never go wrong with perfectly groomed brows. Fill in your brows with a pencil, then comb them upward for a polished look.
Wash, tone and moisturize your face. Good  makeup always starts with fresh skin. Don’t forget to drink lots of water to plump the skin from the inside. If you are dehydrated, your skin will look and feel dry too.

Apply BB cream with your fingers for a more natural look,  instead of using heavy foundation. Find a cream blush that matches your skin’s natural flush.

Give your lashes a one swipe of mascara just to add a little contrast not bringing to much drama to the eyes.

Polish off your no-makeup look with a dash of lip gloss.
Don’t forget  apply your sunscreen beforehand.

Last night my husband and I had the pleasure of being pampering at Mangwanani  Boutique Spa Mandela Rhodes Place.  We both was so looking forward to the treatments  just to relax, unwind and feel pampered!

The beautiful reception area welcomed us to the most amazing smell of scents that automatically swift our moods into a total relaxed state of mind. Zukie,  who was receptionist  on duty was most welcoming and had us relaxed in the Spa’s Dining area to enjoy some drinks before our treatments.

We were escorted to by the two therapists – Lesa Tshaya and Nandipha Gwangqana to the couple’s room to start our treatments.

Ahhhh… What a sight!  When we entered the treatment room, the Jacuzzi  was waiting for us! The treatments included a 60 minute Body Exfoliation and a 30 min Back Massage which we thoroughly enjoyed!

Hallo there

I promised a follow up article on money matters, so here's a few ideas:

By reducing debt, is probably the first and important step towards your goal to save money.

Start by paying off the account   with the highest interest,  or start squashing the smaller balances first, then use the additional funds from that,  and utilize it as an extra payment for  the highest debt balance.

Draw a bank statement and take some time out to have a look at your bank charges, maybe there’s a more cost effective package you can take out, instead of the you are using now. Keep track where money is going to.

See where  you can save by reducing your budget of if there’s regular activities you can cut back on. If you eat out often, maybe start there.. Open a savings account and allow a debit order for funds to be transferred directly into your savings account.  The amount can be minimal, and once you have saved on some other expenses, start increasing the amount.  When doing grocery shopping, stick to budget and shopping list.

Little changes can add up to big savings on expenses.

A smart way to save on money is to start buying Christmas gifts now already, instead of forking out a lot of cash to buy everything at once, and now everything is still reasonably priced.

Mangwanani African Spa came into existence in 2002, when Erin Limbert, Mangwanani’s dynamic CEO first set into motion the realisation of a long standing dream to create a wellness retreat where South Africans could experience true head-to-toe indulgence.

Coupling the ethos of revitalisation with an African inspiration presented an initial challenge because of the uniqueness of this concept. Money Matters

I love fashion, make-up and everything that  makes me feel pampered and spoiled, but all of these things comes with a price, and if one is not careful you might as well looking at your savings account in your closet.

In light of above, I have decided to do a few articles on money matters.

Every season has its own trends, fashion staples and “must” haves. A smart way to shop is when the  majority of the retailers have their annual “end  of season” sale. Prices are normally sliced by 25% – 75%, and if you are smart you will have saved up a few bucks to do a little shopping, and you will be surprised with the number of items you can walk away with.

My purse contains cards with all major retailers.. I’ve created a simple income and expenditure sheet , and wrote down all the payments  I had to fork out every month for my accounts. I monitored it over a period of months and decided enough is enough . Up until a few years a ago I decided to pay it all, but I didn’t have the heart to close  the accounts or destroy the cards ..
Needless to say I have been very disciplined and it became more of a habit buying items cash, or saving up for something expensive. Its interesting to look at your account statement and pay closer  attention to the interest you are charged .

There are retailers that take laybys’.  The Foschini Group is one of them. This is smart way to minimize debt,  and by that I mean if you cannot afford to pay the monthly instalments anymore due to unexpected expenses, you can cancel the layby, so you are not bound to an installment.

Your credit rating  is so important!   You can have a check done every year at the Credit Bureau to see how your rating is.  Even when  applying for employment  these days, this is one of the checks that companies do, and it may affect your application if you have a bad rating. If you have accounts that you paying every month,  make sure you are paying them on time each month, paying late may rate you as a “slow payer” , all  of which affects your credit rating.

If you cannot afford to make a payment, contact the creditor and inform them and make some sort of payment arrangement. Make sure you write down the agents name and ask for a reference.  Overall, try and conduct your payments on time and be disciplined.

Time Is Precious
Somehow I’ve found it a bit difficult to put this on paper, probably more for the fact that there are so much going on in my head. But this fact about time being so precious has been on my mind of late so much.
I am sure we all have heard this phrase and quote and given it some though over time. When we suddenly loose a loved one or someone we are acquainted with suddenly loses his/her life without any warning. These thoughts consumes our minds for a while.. We then come to the realization that tomorrow is not promised and how precious time really is.
I guess  my “A ha moment” came when I realized that I need to starting fulfilling my goals and dreams and that I need to start now and stop procrastinating and finding some or other excuse to delay it every time. I pondered and realized how much time I  have wasted and how I could have consumed the precious time that’s now lost forever.
I quickly realized okay, so I wasted it, it's gone, but I'm not going to waste any more time going back into past and crying over spilled milk. I am using my time wisely now, spending it on things that makes me happy and I am chasing my dreams, pursuing my goals. Living life and enjoying every moment.

So whether its relationships, goals, dreams or whatever is that we are wasting our precious time on, and not doing what we want, what we dream of -  Do it now, it's not too late. Life is short, fragile and does not wait for anyone. There will NEVER be a perfect time to pursue your dreams and goals.

I came across this Quote :
Quote:

"Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to used during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course? Each of us has such a bank, its name is time. Every morning, it credits you 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off at a lost, whatever of this you failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against 'tomorrow.' You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and health. The clock is running. Make the most of today."

Avon Purifying Peel off Mask

Hello Beautiful People

I’ve been using Avon products for a many moons now, as I am sure all of us has used one of their products sometime or the other. When I come across a good product, I tend to go “cray cray” and overstock….

As with this, Avon tea tree and cucumber Mask.. I bought quite a few.
So, I haven't used a face  mask in quite a while – due to time limitations, and also due to the fact that my kids are super scared when I walk around with a mask… seriously, my 10 month old would literally cry until I remove it or wash it off.. So I had a few hours to myself last weekend and decided to give my face a little pamper treatment… and I am glad I did.
This is a transparent peel off mask, so you apply the mask and wait until it’s completely dry and then start peeling it off.

Using the mask after such a long time again, it reminded me why I love this product so much. My skin looks fresh, alive and radiant. This week I have received loads of compliments about how beautiful my skin looks. This is a great mask to add to your collection.

Grateful

Last week I became conscious and observant with my surroundings, So while I was running an errand on Saturday Morning, I saw a gentleman a the traffic light, he was standing there, with a bag, looking for a job, hoping that someone would stop, and offer him something. He seemed desperate.

It made me so grateful for the job I have.

I became immensely grateful for more than just that..

I became grateful for my Husband when I see single parents  fulfilling the role of both parents.

I became grateful for my house when I see the homeless guy sleeping on the pavement of UWC every morning when I pass. Sleeping on a single layer of card board and covered with a blanket or two.

I became grateful for my beautiful children when I see couples struggling to have children.

I became grateful for my health and that of my family and loved ones when I hear stories my sister shares of sick people are at the hospital she works .

I became grateful for my car when I see people walking in rainy cold weather, making use  and depending on  public transport to take them from point A to B.

I became grateful  that I am still alive and have dreams that's coming  true..
I am grateful for more than just above.., most of all..

I became grateful for the fact know that I can depend on God for EVERYTHING, knowing I can run to Him with whatever lives throws at me .

Hallo lovies

Hare Care

Today I’m reviewing Dove Fall Rescue Shampoo and Conditioner.

Starting off with the Shampoo, I love using this shampoo as it really washes clean, and it leaves my hair feeling really soft and smelling great. (Choose a shampoo that suits your hair type)

The conditioner feels really creamy and on application I find it really easy in relieving knots and detangles my hair great. I apply it evenly throughout my hair until the ends then uses a wide tooth comb to gently comb through and keeping it on for two minutes before rinsing. After drying my hear it really looks healthy, smells great has a fantastic shine. I definitely recommend these products.

Tip:
Sometimes it’s a good idea to give your hair a break.. From using flat irons, hair dryers and other styling mechanisms. Just so that you hair can have a little breather. By doing this at least once or twice a month you will notice a difference in your hair.  You can decide what will work best for you.

Vaseline

Vaseline or Baseline as my daughter would say:)  I am  addicted and needs to purchase a big tub every month. I used it for EVERYTHING..

Because I have a dry skin, I mix Vaseline with my body lotions to give me that extra moisture.

I’ve come across some useful tips to that’s awesome to share:

·         Put a coat on your eyelashes before you go to be. Lots of people swear by this – and say it will make you lashes grow longer and thicker over time.

·         Put a coat of Vaseline on your feet at night.

·         Put Vaseline on your elbows every day – they will  stay soft.

·         Put Vaseline on your cuticles for softer and better looking cuticles.

·         Put Vaseline on chapped lips.

·         Use it as lip-gloss.

·         Maintains perfume scent longer when applied at perfume points before spritzing the perfume.

·         Moisturizes severe dry skin.

·         Can be used as makeup remover.

·         Protects skin exposed to adverse weather.

·         Applied under eye shadow it can create a shiny effect.

·         Use Vaseline on knees to prevent that dry, ashy look.

·         Mix with sea salts to make a scrub.

·         Warmed up can be used as a night cream.

·         Can be used to smooth and soothe skin after shaving.

·         Used in manicures under cuticles.

·         Use with your lipstick to create a cream blusher for you cheeks.

·         Tames eyebrows.

·         Defines eyelashes and leaves with a glossy and waterproof look.

·         Helps heal and protect new tattoos.

·         Can protect against harmful hair dyeing, perming and straightening chemicals when used as a mark around the hairline.

·         Use a time dab to put a quick shine on your shoes and bags.

·         Remove makeup stains from clothing.

·         Rub Vaseline on the neck of your nail polish bottles and they won't get stuck to the caps.

·         Remove false eyelash glue form your lash line.
