My Mangwanani Day

One of the best memories of 2015 would definitely be when I was chosen as a Brand Ambassador for Mangwanani African Spa.

I’ve always had a love for Massages and beauty treatments. One of my best methods of relaxation is when I am having any kind of Massage treatment.

Sometimes, when I look at my almost 4 year old daughter and see the excitement when she receives something she really wanted or when we take her to the beach, it totally overwhelms her! She’s then beyond herself – it makes my heart melt. I can now relate.

I guess that is the same kind of excitement I experience when I know I'm going for a Massage treatment.

I was over the moon when the day finally arrived and we had to go and enjoy our African Revitalizing Spa Treatment! You get pampered for a whole day!!!!  Seriously!!

We arrived at the Zvenwacht Mangwanani by 8h30 and was welcomed with the beautiful sound of Traditional African singing and drumming.

We were then escorted to the changing rooms and slipped into our gowns and slippers, which we spent the entire day in.  We headed over to the restaurant to enjoy a healthy breakfast before we headed off to our first pamper session.

I was so excited – almost felt like a child let loose in a candy shop!
We were pampered with three of our 7 treatments – Each one was heaven and I fell in and out of naps in between, because I never felt so totally relaxed and spoiled!

These ladies are so professional and each treatment we received was so well executed and detailed.  By the time the first three treatments was done, it was lunch time.
We had a choice between three delicious meals and chose the fish option.

After the enjoyment of our scrumptious meal and delicious dessert, we enjoyed the rest of our treatments!  Our treatments included the following:

UBUSO – Revitalizing Facial Spa with pressure point massage.

TLHAPISO – Spa Body Treatment – You have a choice of body wash, exfoliation or body brushing.

IZIMANGA – Traditional Full Body Massage with hot stone. Hot Stones and a blend of essential oils and lemongrass are placed on the body and a creeme & almond oil infusion melt into the skin, leaving you feeling Refreshed, Revitalized and Re-energized.

MOLALA – African Head, Neck & Shoulders Massage with sesame seed oil.

NEO MAOTO – Traditional African Royal Foot Massage (from toes to knees) – Here tired feet are soaked in a Fresh Petal Oil Bath, then scrubbed with sugar, herbs and almond oil and finally treated to sesame seed oil and a light pressure point massage.

NEO MATSOGO – Traditional African Royal Hand Massage (from fingers to elbows), Rose petal water cleansing, sugar and grape seed oil scrub followed by pressure point stress relieving massage.

JACUZZI – The Jacuzzi was so much fun! It was very private, so you could enjoy it to the max.

A day like this should really on  one’s bucket/to-do list. We have such busy lives and I think everyone should at least treat themselves  a loved one, friend or someone you think deserves it,  to something like this every now and then.

Red Lippies
I’ve had this red lipstick for a quite a while now. I’ve always preferred nude colors, but  decided to play around and explore brighter colors. I’ve seen many ladies pull of this look beautifully, I wasn’t really confident with it yet, mainly because I  have darker, olive skin tone and wasn’t sure if a red lip would complement my skin tone. And  I was scared that a red shade would be far to showy and calls for too much attention to my lips.

A bold red lip is such a classic look and adds a touch of flair. A  good idea would probably be to  pair a bold red lip with the lightest possible make –up. Better yet, do away with eye shadow and just dab on mascara.  Applying a little concealer around the border of your mouth area will promote a polished look.

Red lipstick makes the lips appear bigger and much plumper than what they really are, so it's important to consider the size of your lips when choosing a shade of red lippies. If you feeling to dress down a bit, a pop of red on the lips can easily elevate your outfit instantly.
A good tip is to apply a little foundation on your lips before applying the lipstick. Use a lip liner the same shade a the red lipstick to prevent the lipstick from bleeding out of the lips. Red lipstick makes the face not just the lips very attractive, but ensure that your make-up is balanced!

So im rocking red lippies confidently J

Enhancing your natural features

It's no secret that we as women love make-up. It certainly makes, and let us feel and look good.

I’m not a make-up artist but have the basic essentials and knowledge on how to apply it so that it can enhance my features and cover up a few flaws. I don’t wear a lot of make-up, my make-up routine takes about 5 minutes or less each morning.

I apply mascara, a little bronzer and some eye shadow, I would finish off the look with lip gloss or natural lipstick.

Weekends I don’t wear any make-up, I normally use this time to let my face breathe.
Have you noticed that people who wear eye pencil every day,  the day they haven't applied eye pencil, you can immediately notice the difference. Their appearance comes a across as if the person is looking ill, the face appears bleak.

I'm not against make up, on the contrary, I love it – and I am a keen collector of makeup, even if I don’t get apply everything that’s stacked up in my makeup cabinet, but I like to keep it simple. I also don’t have a lot of time in the morning to apply loads of products.

Find your favorite facial feature and capitalize it. But don't overdo it if you go one day without all the makeup everybody will notice.

Feel good, feel pretty and that's what the world will see. If you feel ugly, that's what people will see. Try to look as good as you can. There are ways to live in beauty without being obsessive about it.

You can never go wrong with perfectly groomed brows. Fill in your brows with a pencil, then comb them upward for a polished look.
Wash, tone and moisturize your face. Good  makeup always starts with fresh skin. Don’t forget to drink lots of water to plump the skin from the inside. If you are dehydrated, your skin will look and feel dry too.

Apply BB cream with your fingers for a more natural look,  instead of using heavy foundation. Find a cream blush that matches your skin’s natural flush.

Give your lashes a one swipe of mascara just to add a little contrast not bringing to much drama to the eyes.

Polish off your no-makeup look with a dash of lip gloss.
Don’t forget  apply your sunscreen beforehand.

Mangwanani Boutique Spa Mandela Rhodes Place

Hello Everyone!

Last night my husband and I had the pleasure of being pampering at Mangwanani  Boutique Spa Mandela Rhodes Place.  We both was so looking forward to the treatments  just to relax, unwind and feel pampered!

The beautiful reception area welcomed us to the most amazing smell of scents that automatically swift our moods into a total relaxed state of mind. Zukie,  who was receptionist  on duty was most welcoming and had us relaxed in the Spa’s Dining area to enjoy some drinks before our treatments.

We were escorted to by the two therapists – Lesa Tshaya and Nandipha Gwangqana to the couple’s room to start our treatments.

Ahhhh… What a sight!  When we entered the treatment room, the Jacuzzi  was waiting for us! The treatments included a 60 minute Body Exfoliation and a 30 min Back Massage which we thoroughly enjoyed!

The Exfoliation treatment left us feeling refreshed and glowing. Not to mention the back massage!
It was pure indulgence and the two therapists was so professional and very good at what they did, and we could not help to doze off.

Here are some benefits on Exfoliation  and Back Massages:

Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells that collect on the outer surface of the skin.  Dead skin cells are buffed off with an a body scrub or  glove. Exfoliation produces good blood circulation and leaves the skin feeling fresh and more supple, it also brightens the appearance. Remember to use a product and application method that  is most suited for your skin type.

Benefits of Exfoliating your skin includes:
·         Skin are soft and glowing.
·         Buffing the dead skin away keeps the pores from clogging.
·         Exfoliating speeds up your skin’s natural renewal process.
·         Removal of dead skin cells helps uneven tone.
·         Exfoliating on a regular basis leads to visibly brighter skin.

Back Massage has the following benefits:
·         It eases muscle pain.
·         It soothes anxiety and depression.
·         A back massage promotes relaxation and sleep.
·         Massage decreases the frequency and severity of tension headaches.

We all need to show our body how grateful we are for it, and deserves pampering!
